West Ham’s run continues, and looking at the way they beat champions Manchester City on the weekend, it shows no sign of slowing. At Upton Park, as Sergio Aguero, David Silva et al strode out onto the pitch, the fans (and presumably the team) were keenly aware that this would be the ultimate heat-check. Lose badly, like they did in the Capital One Cup semi-final last season, and their well-earned confidence would be obliterated. Somehow find a way to win, and they would reap the glorious rewards. How to do it, then?
Alex Song proved the star performer for the Hammers. Sam Allardyce has done a canny piece of business signing the former Arsenal man on a season long loan from Barcelona, and his performance against City was imperious. Here’s what he did, and how he did it, in the video below, produced by WWOS.
